What fence type works best in Lexington’s red clay soil?

Red clay (or “hardpan”) is dense and holds moisture. We recommend Vinyl or Aluminum because they are impervious to rot. If you choose Wood, we use pressure-treated pine and a specific “wet-set” concrete mix that bonds tightly with the clay to prevent heaving.
